Additional information and details
Newlywed Entertainment wants to provide the best possible experience for your big day. Below we have listed some of the most asked question's and things to consider when planning for your event.
Ceremony Outline:
1) Prelude - music you can choose yourself or let the DJ pick the songs to make things easier for you. Think of it as “welcoming music". We usually start between 15 and 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.
2) Processional refers to the formal entrances of family and bridal party. This is the music we’ll play during these entrances. These special entrances include:
Family: Parents, grandparents, and any other family or honored guests
Attendants: Bridesmaids and groomsmen and any flower girls and/or ring bearers
The Bride
3) Recessional refers to the formal exit of the bridal party, including bride and groom and the bridesmaids and groomsmen; it also refers to the piece of music we play for this exit.
4) Postlude is the music we play after the recessional, as the guests exit the ceremony area.
5) If you are having a candle lighting, a guest singer, or musician during the ceremony portion, please discuss this with your DJ to make sure we have the right music in place to accommodate your needs.
Reception Outline:
1) After cocktail hour, when its time to announce the bridal party and the Newlyweds, you'll need a great song to walk into. Also, make sure to let your DJ know how you wanna be introduced and the names of your bridal party if you have one.
2) First dance - Once you have chosen your first dance, you can choose to let the whole song play out, or allow the DJ to slowly fade out the song early. We have found that some brides and grooms prefer this option, as some songs can last over 4 minutes. A good rule of thumb would be around the 2 minute mark of a song.
3) Father/Daughter and Mother/Son - for these two dances, the same option can be used to either play out the whole song or do a soft, fade out early.
4) Cake Cutting - If you are doing a cake cutting and would like a certain song played let us know and we will make it happen.
5) Flower and garter toss - these are always fun, upbeat songs. You can talk to your DJ if you need help making song selections.
6) Photo Opportunity - This one is totally an option for our clients, but your DJ does more than just place music. We entertain you and your guest. We can work with your photographer to help create special moments, for once in a life time pictures. What will happen is; your DJ will ask the Bride and Groom to come to the dance floor, all family and guests to surround them, for a short, sing-a-long type song, such as 'Shout'. Your DJ will help direct and work up the crowd to clap, jump, and shout! The photos always turn our amazing. If this is something you would like, we can make it happen for you!
